About Lysaght Watt Gallery

STAGE Incorporated - Lysaght Watt Gallery - was established in 2005, our community-driven facility has provided space for art exhibitions, community projects, and education.

Exhibitions change monthly, we're proud to offer a space that showcases a diverse range of artwork inspiring participants and visitors alike. This includes pieces contributed by our own gallery members, local artists, invited artists, as well as national touring exhibitions.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated committee of passionate individuals volunteers their time to ensure the smooth operation of the gallery.

We are supported by grants received from the South Taranaki District Council, COGS, sponsorship, donations, fundraising and commissions. The Lysaght Watt Trust is a generous supporter of the gallery and we appreciate the Trust and all our funders.

Become Involved

If you are passionate about supporting Art in Taranaki and looking for a way to support Lysaght Watt Gallery, you can do so in the following ways:

Become A Gallery Assistant

The Gallery is manned by volunteers.  This is a peaceful, satisfying role that requires very little and gives very much. The role involves greeting and attending to enquiries from visitors, keeping the gallery spaces tidy, and processing sales as required.

Become A Committee Member

Volunteers are the life-blood of any non profit organisation and the Gallery is no exception.  The AGM of the society is held around August each year, however if you are interested in supporting the arts in Hāwera and South Taranaki we would welcome your enquiry.
