The Chair Affair

When it's a chair, it's just a chair right? Not when it's one of these chairs!

The Chair Affair exhibition is currently displaying at the Lysaght Watt Gallery on January 4 - February 8, 2026! During a time when many have put away their chairs for the summer holidays, curator Nikki Watson from Bizlink has brought out some wonderful and creative chairs for all to see at the gallery.

A presentation of recycled, up-cycled chairs from a variety of artists with diverse backgrounds and skills. From the wildly whimsical to the brilliantly practical, this exhibition celebrates the imagination of everyday creatives, challenged to reinvent any humble chair - whether it's handy, crafty, witty, or just plain clever, each piece will tell a story.

When you come in, we encourage you to vote for your favourite chair. Just ask one of our friendly volunteers at the gallery for beads that you can place inside the jar beside your favourite chair. And that's all! It was more than just admiration for a chair with character, but rather, a chair you can vote for!
