Born Under A Lucky Star

We enjoyed an amazing opening event on Sunday at the textile art exhibition, Born Under A Lucky Star! This highly anticipated event showcased a vibrant collection of textile art that not only highlighted the creativity of the artists but also celebrated the rich tapestry of cultural narratives woven into each piece. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as attendees gathered to experience the unique blend of colors, textures, and stories that the exhibition promised to deliver.

Ron Te Kawa was there leading the exhibition, bringing his extensive knowledge and passion for textile art to the forefront. His insightful commentary and engaging presence set the tone for the evening, guiding guests through the various installations and sharing the inspiration behind each artist's work. The event was not just enthralling but also inspiring, as it fostered a sense of community and connection among those present. We heard from the arts co-ordinator Michaela Stoneman, who passionately shared that some of the happy South Taranaki artists "are first-time exhibitors." Ka pai whanau, indeed.

It's wonderful to see the work that our community is achieving. The exhibition serves as a testament to the creativity and resilience of local artists who have poured their hearts into their craft. We warmly welcome your visit at the gallery to see this exhibition. This is an excellent opportunity to support local talent and to appreciate the intricate beauty of textile art that often goes unnoticed in our fast-paced world. Don't miss out on the chance to be inspired by the creativity that thrives in our community.
